Community Veg beds

Sharing the passion for grow-your-own in Whitstable

Partnership work between the Windmill Communty Allotment (who got the NHS money), Kent Enterprise Trust (who built the raised beds), Transition Town Whitstable food group - Edible Whitstable (volunteers for ongoing work) as well as Canterbury City Council, Serco and KCC libraries (phew) has resulted in this wonderful community veg growing opportunity at Whistable Library.

Special thanks to Jules Ellis from the Windmill and Chris West - Whitstable and Herne Bay Town Coordinator for making this happen.

Sessions on every Farmers' Market day, 11 - 1pm throughout the growing season will be welcoming experienced allotmenteers, flegling veg growers and volunteers to come along and join in, learn, support others and have fun.

Particular help is needed to problem-solve the watering issue and generally keep an eye on the area.
